H.B. 445 Summary

• Authorizes the Division of Motor Vehicles to produce a special registration plate for the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine Turtle Rescue Team.

• The plate requires an additional fee of $30.00 beyond standard motor vehicle registration fees, with $10.00 going to the Special Registration Plate Account and $20.00 to the Collegiate and Cultural Attraction Plate Account.

• The Division must receive at least 300 applications before developing the plate, which shall bear a phrase and logo selected by the NCSU Turtle Rescue Team.

• Quarterly transfers from the Collegiate and Cultural Attraction Plate Account derived from Turtle Rescue Team plate sales must be sent to the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine Turtle Rescue Team to support medical, surgical, and husbandry services for turtles.

• The act becomes effective July 1, 2013.
