Vendors with products on a United States General Services Administration (GSA) Furniture Schedule are automatically qualified to bid on North Carolina state furniture requirements contracts if they are federally qualified vendors offering the same pricing and specifications as their GSA products.

State furniture requirements contracts must be awarded on a multiple award basis to at least three qualified vendors per category, unless fewer qualified vendors are available.

State agencies may purchase from any certified vendor on a furniture requirements contract and must select the most economical option based on price, compatibility, service, delivery, freight charges, contract terms, and other relevant factors.

GSA-qualified vendors must be either resident bidders as defined in state law or offer products manufactured or produced in North Carolina.

The law covers furniture requirements contracts for casegoods, classroom furniture, bookcases, ergonomic chairs, office chairs, computer furniture, mobile and folding furniture, upholstered seating, commercial dining tables, and related items.
