Honors the life and memory of Edward "Ed" Walter Jones, a former member of the North Carolina General Assembly who died on December 14, 2012.

Recognizes Jones's extensive public service career including roles as a State Highway Patrol officer (1975-2000), Police Chief and Mayor of Enfield, House member representing Halifax and Nash Counties (2005), and State Senator representing Bertie, Chowan, Gates, Halifax, Hertford, Northampton, and Perquimans Counties (2007-2012).

Acknowledges Jones's service on numerous legislative committees including State and Local Government, Appropriations, Judiciary, and select committees on emergency management and election reform, with particular focus on crime control and public safety.

Directs the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to Jones's family and extends condolences to his surviving wife Maryann Holden Jones, two daughters, and three granddaughters.
