Town of Weddington is authorized to enter into long-term agreements with organized volunteer fire departments, including Providence, Stallings, and Wesley Chapel Volunteer Fire Departments, to provide fire protection services.

Individual agreements under this act cannot exceed 10 years in duration.

Agreements are continuing and binding on the Town and volunteer fire departments for the full term, enforceable without further General Assembly approval.

The Town and volunteer fire departments may modify or amend any agreement by mutual written consent without General Assembly approval.

Effective upon becoming law, ratified May 2, 2013.
