Honors the leadership and foresight of North Carolinians who created and established the North Carolina Community College System, which was formally established on May 17, 1963, through the Omnibus Higher Education Act (Senate Bill 72).

Recognizes that the System has grown from 31 community colleges serving 79,117 students in 1963 to 58 community colleges serving all 100 North Carolina counties and over 850,000 students annually.

Acknowledges the System's national and international recognition as a leader in workforce development and its contribution to improving the quality of life for millions of North Carolinians through technical education, certificates, diplomas, and degrees.

Expresses appreciation for the dedication of faculty, staff, trustees, county commissioners, and state leaders who have supported the community colleges and their responsiveness to community needs.

Directs the Principal Clerk to transmit a copy of the resolution to the President of the North Carolina Community College System.
