State Board of Education must require alternate ACT or PLAN precursor tests for students with severe developmental delays, following extended content standards, or pursuing non-college pathways, with written parental request.

State Board of Education shall ensure parents of all public school students receive necessary information to make informed decisions about ACT and PLAN participation.

Alternate assessment and ACT results for students with disabilities must be included in school accountability reports for all public schools, including charter and regional schools.

State Board shall develop alternate assessments to measure career and college readiness for students not required to take ACT or PLAN, with pilot testing for alternate ACT during 2013-2014 school year and alternate PLAN during 2014-2015 school year.

PLAN diagnostic tests in eighth and tenth grades are exempted from requirement when alternate assessments are provided under this act.
