State Chief Information Officer serves as chair of the North Carolina Longitudinal Data System Board and is no longer required to designate a representative.

Appointed board members serve four-year terms beginning May 1, 2013, and every four years thereafter, with a limit of two consecutive terms.

Board shall elect a vice-chair from appointed members for a two-year term; chair position is no longer subject to term limits.

Board must hold initial meeting upon appointment of a majority of members and meet at least quarterly thereafter, with additional meetings at the chair's discretion.

Board shall submit quarterly progress reports to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee, Joint Legislative Commission on Governmental Operations, and Joint Legislative Committee on Information Technology beginning September 30, 2013.
