Department of Public Instruction shall establish a full-service community schools pilot program in at least five middle or high schools to coordinate academic, social, and health services among schools, community organizations, and public/private agencies.

Pilot schools may offer services including family engagement programs, youth mentoring, community service learning, job training, nutrition services, health and dental care, financial literacy, mental health services, and adult education including English as a second language.

Department of Public Instruction must report to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee by July 15, 2014, on the costs and benefits of the pilot schools.

The act becomes effective upon enactment.
