Allows spouses to execute valid contracts during separation that waive, release, or establish rights to post-separation support, alimony, or spousal support.

Requires such contracts to be in writing, contain a clearly stated waiver provision, and be acknowledged by both parties before a certifying officer.

Permits waivers to remain valid even after reconciliation and subsequent separation if the contract meets all requirements.

Allows a release made under this provision to be used as a legal defense against any action or proceeding to recover the waived rights.

Effective immediately upon becoming law, ratified June 13, 2013.
