State Board of Education must establish rules awarding experience credit for salary purposes to principals, assistant principals, and teachers who are military veterans with honorable discharge or retirement status.

Grants one year of experience credit per year of full-time relevant nonteaching work completed after earning a bachelor's degree while on active military duty.

Grants one year of experience credit per two years of full-time relevant nonteaching work completed before earning a bachelor's degree while on active military duty.

Grants one year of experience credit per two years of full-time instructional or leadership duties while on active military duty, regardless of academic degree held during service.

State Board must establish criteria for determining relevance of military work experience, including processes to review military transcripts and American Council on Education recommendations; applies to military veterans hired starting in the 2014-2015 school year.
