Requires motor vehicles manufactured after December 31, 1955 to have at least two working stop lamps on the rear instead of one, except motorcycles and motor-driven cycles which remain at one stop lamp requirement.

Stop lamps must emit, reflect, or display red or amber light visible from at least 100 feet to the rear in normal sunlight and be activated when the service brake is applied.

Updates requirements for buses, trucks, truck tractors, trailers, and semitrailers to have two stop lamps on the rear, with exceptions for lighter trailers under 4,000 pounds unless they obstruct the towing vehicle's stop lamp.

Clarifies that motor vehicles originally manufactured with amber stop lamps may continue to emit, reflect, or display amber light in addition to red.

Effective upon passage into law.
