Grand jurors who complete a full term of service are exempt from serving as grand jurors or regular jurors for six years following discharge from service.

Modifies G.S. 9-3 to add the six-year exemption for those who served full grand jury terms, while maintaining the existing two-year exemption for other jurors.

Requires master jury lists to note which persons served full grand jury terms and retain this information for six years instead of the standard two years.

Adds new subsection to G.S. 15A-622 specifying that grand jurors completing full terms are not required to serve again as grand jurors or jurors for six years.

Becomes effective January 1, 2014.
