Community association board members must complete a minimum of four hours of education within 60 days of election covering laws under Chapters 47C and 47F, Article 1 of Chapter 93A, Commission rules, and related matters.

The North Carolina Real Estate Commission shall provide the required education, which may be offered online.

Community associations must pay a $75 fee to the Commission for each board member completing the course.

The education requirement applies to associations and unit owner's associations as defined under G.S. 47C-1-103 or associations and owner's associations as defined under G.S. 47F-1-103.

The act becomes effective upon enactment, with the Revisor of Statutes authorized to recodify the new statute to a more suitable location.
