Appropriates $350,000 from the General Fund to War Memorial Foundation, Inc. for the 2013-2014 fiscal year to complete the Carolina Field of Honor memorial in Kernersville.

The Carolina Field of Honor is a five million dollar war memorial project honoring military service personnel from all branches of the United States Armed Services, located on an 8.5 acre tract at Triad Park on the Forsyth/Guilford County line.

Memorial features granite monuments, flags, obelisks, water features, historical brick walkways, parade field, and amphitheater with 2,000+ seating capacity.

Foundation has raised 80% of necessary funding through an all-volunteer board of directors composed of veterans and veterans' spouses, with less than 1% of funds used for administrative costs.

Forsyth and Guilford Counties have committed to assume all future maintenance and care of the memorial upon completion.
