Repeals opening and closing date restrictions for the Craven County Board of Education that previously required schools to open no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and close no later than the Friday closest to June 11.

Removes the waiver process that allowed the State Board of Education to approve earlier opening dates (Monday closest to August 19) based on demonstrated good cause.

Eliminates the exemption that previously applied only to schools operating modified calendars as of the 2003-2004 school year.

Applies only to Craven County Schools and takes effect beginning with the 2013-2014 school year.
