Appropriates $500,000 from the General Fund to the Department of Public Instruction for fiscal year 2013-2014 for the Futures for Kids program.

Funds designated for equipment, staff development, and implementation and maintenance costs of the program by Futures for Kids, Inc.

Futures for Kids is a career exploration initiative currently implemented in over 900 middle and high schools across North Carolina serving over 500,000 students.

Program provides self-guided career assessment tools for sixth through twelfth graders and connects students, teachers, businesses, and parents through an interactive system.

Effective July 1, 2013.
