Increases maximum workers' compensation for loss of or permanent injury to important external or internal organs from $20,000 to $41,600.

Requires annual adjustment of the maximum compensation amount effective July 1 each year based on the Consumer Price Index (all items – United States city average) calculated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Adjustments apply the year-over-year percentage change in the Consumer Price Index to the previous dollar amount, with results rounded to the nearest $100 increment.

Adjusted amounts become effective for compensation awards made on or after January 1 following each July 1 calculation, and must be published in the North Carolina Register.

Becomes effective June 30, 2015, and applies to claims arising on or after that date.
