Requires local school administrative units to include instruction in grades 7 and above on preventable risks for preterm birth in subsequent pregnancies, including induced abortion, smoking, alcohol consumption, illicit drug use, and inadequate prenatal care.

Mandates charter schools provide students in grades 7-12 with annual information on the same preventable preterm birth risks.

Requires nonpublic schools and home schools receive information materials on preventable preterm birth risks from the Division of Nonpublic Education.

Directs the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health, to provide sample educational materials with current information on preterm birth prevention risks to relevant education departments within 60 days and annually thereafter.

Effective July 18, 2013, applying beginning with the 2013-2014 school year.
