Prohibits persons under 18 years of age from using tanning equipment, raising the previous age restriction from 13 years and younger.

Eliminates the previous medical exemption that allowed minors 13 and younger to use tanning equipment with a written prescription from a physician.

Requires tanning facility operators to provide consumers with warning statements about the potential hazards of ultraviolet radiation exposure and obtain signed acknowledgment before initial use.

Prohibits tanning facility operators and owners from distributing promotional materials claiming that tanning equipment is safe, risk-free, or provides medical or health benefits.

Becomes effective July 1, 2013.
