NC S250

Amends the State Personnel Act to add the Office of Information Technology Services and the Office of State Personnel to the list of entities where the Governor may designate exempt positions, within the existing total of 1,000 exempt positions across all covered departments and offices.

Modifies the State Chief Information Officer's authority to allow employees in positions designated as exempt under G.S. 126-5(d)(1) to not be subject to the State Personnel Act.

Exempts the newly added positions from provisions of G.S. 126-5(e) regarding exempt position restrictions.

Becomes effective upon passage into law.
