Exempts structures temporarily occupied by an emergency preparedness communications and operations center from seismic upgrade requirements for Occupancy Category IV buildings.

Applies the exemption only while the structure ordinarily housing the center undergoes seismic upgrades, for a period of less than five years.

Exemption overrides provisions of the State Building Code and Article 9 of Chapter 143 of the General Statutes.

Applies to Forsyth County only.

Effective when law is enacted and expires June 30, 2018.
