Montgomery County employees and their dependents are now eligible to participate in the State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees.

The Towns of Elizabethtown and Matthews remain eligible to participate in the State Health Plan.

The bill amended G.S. 135-48.47(a) to add Montgomery County to the list of local government units whose employees can access the state health plan.

The act became effective upon passage on August 6, 2014.
