State of North Carolina conveys the former Gates County Correctional Facility (approximately 19.59 acres, Parcel 01-00566) to the Gates County Board of Commissioners for $1.00.

State retains a reversionary interest in the property, which reverts to the state if the facility is no longer used for county government purposes.

Property is conveyed "as is" and "where is" with no warranties regarding title, boundaries, zoning, environmental conditions, or physical safety; Gates County bears all conveyance costs.

Conveyance is exempt from Article 7 of Chapter 146 of the General Statutes but must comply with Article 16 of Chapter 146, excluding the provisions of G.S. 146-74.

Act became effective upon passage and ratification on July 24, 2013.
