NC S527

Establishes a Class 1 misdemeanor offense for trespassing on school grounds during one hour before school starts through one hour after school ends.

Defines "school premises" to include school buildings and educational property within 500 feet of a school building.

Exempts enrolled students, parents/guardians of students, school employees, persons with official permission, attendees of school events, and persons who report to visitors' check-in from the trespass prohibition.

Applies to public and private elementary, middle, and secondary schools.

Takes effect December 1, 2013.
