Requires petit jurors to take the oath set forth in Section 7, Article VI of the North Carolina Constitution, swearing to support and maintain the U.S. and North Carolina constitutions and laws.

Petit jurors must also take the oath under G.S. 11-11, swearing to truthfully and without prejudice or partiality try all issues in civil or criminal actions and give true verdicts according to evidence.

Amends G.S. 9-14 to clarify that both constitutional and statutory oaths are required for all petit jurors selected to serve.

Amends G.S. 11-11 to explicitly require the constitutional oath be taken before the petit juror's oath in all cases.

Effective October 1, 2013, for oaths taken on or after that date.
