Amends G.S. 135-3(8)d to allow members who earned disability benefits under Article 6 to count that service as membership service when calculating retirement allowances after restoration to service.

Applies retroactively to persons retiring on or after January 1, 2012.

Affects both the teachers' and state employees' retirement system and the local governmental employees' retirement system.

Allows retired members who return to service and earn at least three years of additional membership service to have their retirement allowance computed using all service (before, during, and after retirement) without restrictions.
