S71 Summary

• Adds definitions for business entities, foreign corporations, foreign limited liability companies, foreign partnerships, and nonresident individuals to irrigation contractor licensing requirements.

• Allows the Irrigation Contractors' Licensing Board to issue licenses to business entities (corporations, LLCs, partnerships) if at least one licensed individual officer or employee executes all irrigation contracts and exercises direct supervision.

• Permits licensing of nonresident individuals and foreign entities that meet state requirements, including obtaining certificates of authority from the Secretary of State where applicable.

• Modifies fee structure to separately list individual license fees and business entity or foreign entity license fees, each at $100.00, and adds a $250.00 reinstatement fee.

• Changes license suspension for failure to complete continuing education from permanent forfeiture to 60-day suspension with opportunity to reinstate upon completion of education and payment of reinstatement fee.

• Effective October 1, 2013.
