Prohibits constituent institutions and community colleges from denying recognition to student organizations based on the organization's exercise of rights under this law.

Allows religious or political student organizations to determine leadership qualifications based on whether persons profess the organization's faith or mission and conform to its established written doctrines.

Permits religious or political student organizations to order internal affairs and resolve disputes according to their established written doctrines, to the extent allowed by state and federal law.

Applies to both University of North Carolina system schools and community colleges in North Carolina.

Became effective upon enactment on June 25, 2014.
