Requires health insurers to ensure chiropractor co-payment amounts do not exceed the co-payment amounts for comparable medically necessary treatment performed by a primary care physician.

Applies to health benefit plans issued, renewed, or amended on or after January 1, 2015.

Maintains existing protections that insurers cannot limit chiropractor coverage more restrictively than coverage for other licensed physicians, unless a comparable limitation applies to both.

Covers health maintenance organizations, hospital and medical service corporations, and other insurers regulated under North Carolina insurance law.
