Expresses the General Assembly's gratitude and appreciation to all men and women of the United States Armed Forces for their service and honors those who died in service.

Recognizes North Carolina's significant military presence, including six major Department of Defense/Department of Homeland Security installations and nearly 800,000 veterans.

Notes that the military is the second largest sector of North Carolina's economy, accounting for 10% of the state's gross product worth $48 billion and employing over 540,000 individuals directly or indirectly.

Acknowledges North Carolina's commitment to maintaining its position as the nation's "Most Military Friendly State" and preserving military installations and land uses compatible with military operations.
