General Assembly honors the memory of Zebulon Doyle Alley and expresses appreciation for his life and service to his community and the State.

Zebulon Doyle Alley (1928-2013) served as a North Carolina State Senator beginning in 1971, representing a district including Waynesville.

Alley was a decorated Korean War veteran who received the Bronze Star with "V" device for valor and the Purple Heart for heroic service on March 3, 1951.

Alley had a distinguished career as a lobbyist ranked No. 1 most influential by the Center for Public Policy Research for 16 consecutive years and provided pro bono legal representation to veterans for over 25 years.

Secretary of State shall transmit a certified copy of the resolution to Alley's family; resolution effective upon ratification on June 11, 2014.
