Honors the life and memory of Martin Luther Nesbitt, Jr., a former North Carolina General Assembly member who represented Buncombe County for 31 years.

Nesbitt served in the House of Representatives from 1981-1994 and 1997-2004, and in the State Senate from 2004-2014, holding positions including House Appropriations Committee cochair and Senate Majority and Minority Leader.

Recognized Nesbitt's legislative expertise in health and human services, Medicaid, mental health reform, and economic development initiatives including the Clean Smokestacks Act and AdvantageWest.

Extends deepest sympathy to Nesbitt's family and directs the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to his family.

Ratified on June 25, 2014; effective upon ratification.
