Minors suspected or charged with solicitation of prostitution are granted immunity from prosecution under G.S. 14-205.1.

A minor who is soliciting as a prostitute shall be taken into temporary protective custody as an undisciplined juvenile pursuant to Article 19 of Chapter 7B of the General Statutes.

Law enforcement officers must immediately report allegations involving minors to the department of social services director in the county where the minor resides or is found.

The department of social services must commence an initial investigation into child abuse or child neglect within 24 hours of receiving the report.

The act became effective upon passage and applies to violations occurring on or after the date of enactment (August 5, 2015).
