• Appoints over 200 individuals to various public offices and boards in North Carolina upon recommendations from the Speaker of the House, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and Senate Minority Leader.

• Speaker-recommended appointments include positions on the African-American Heritage Commission, Agricultural Finance Authority, State Building Commission, Environmental Management Commission, Wildlife Resources Commission, and numerous licensing and advisory boards.

• President Pro Tempore-recommended appointments cover boards such as the Clean Water Management Trust Fund, Coastal Resources Commission, Housing Finance Agency, Institute of Medicine, and North Carolina Mining Commission.

• Senate Minority Leader recommends appointment of Monika Hostler of Wake County to the North Carolina Partnership for Children, Inc., Board of Directors for a term expiring December 31, 2017.

• Most appointments become effective upon ratification (September 29, 2015), with specific effective dates for certain positions ranging from July 1, 2014 to January 1, 2016.
