Removes restrictions on school opening and closing dates for Davidson County, Lexington City, and Thomasville City school administrative units.

Eliminates the requirement that opening dates be no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and closing dates be no later than the Friday closest to June 11 for these three districts.

Repeals the "good cause" waiver provision that previously allowed the State Board of Education to grant exceptions to opening date requirements.

Repeals the exemption for modified calendar schools that were designated or planned as of the 2003-2004 school year.

Effective for the 2015-2016 school year and applies only to Davidson County, Lexington City, and Thomasville City schools.
