Removes the requirement that school opening dates be no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and closing dates be no later than the Friday closest to June 11 for Durham County schools.

Eliminates the "good cause" waiver provision that allowed early opening dates only under specific weather-related closure conditions.

Removes restrictions on modified calendar schools that were designated in the 2003-2004 school year.

Applies only to the Durham County Board of Education and takes effect for the 2015-2016 school year.
