Direct the Legislative Research Commission (LRC) to study the role of health care providers and other gatekeepers in suicide prevention, focusing on individuals under age 25, firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical services personnel, and veterans.

Require the LRC to examine evidence-based suicide assessment, treatment, and management training and its effectiveness in helping health care providers identify and treat patients with suicidal ideation.

Require the LRC to identify which categories of licensed health care providers should complete suicide prevention training as part of continuing education requirements, including minimum hours and specific training elements.

Direct the LRC to evaluate the feasibility of providing suicide prevention training to school personnel, clergy, and law enforcement officers, and to recommend methods for credentialing trained individuals.

Require the LRC to submit a final report with proposed legislation to the 2017 General Assembly, including recommendations on sharing non-identifying suicide investigation data with relevant stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality compliance.
