Brunswick County Board of Commissioners may adopt and enforce ordinances regulating navigable waters within the county's jurisdictional boundaries, including operation of boats and vessels, anchoring restrictions, and activities conducted on navigable waters.

County may establish reasonable rules and regulations for safe and proper use of navigable waters by boat and vessel occupants, swimmers, fishermen, and other users, with enforcement provisions under G.S. 153A-123.

State and federal rules or regulations from the North Carolina Wildlife Commission, Division of Marine Fisheries, Marine Fisheries Commission, U.S. Coast Guard, or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers prevail over county ordinances in case of conflict.

Brunswick County may appropriate funds necessary to implement the authority granted under this act.

The act is effective upon becoming law.
