Requires local school administrative units to provide instruction in school bus safety to all students at least twice every school year, with curriculum developed by the State Board of Education.

Mandates local school administrative units submit annual written reports to the Department of Public Instruction detailing school bus safety instruction provided and other required information.

Directs the Department of Public Instruction, in collaboration with the Department of Transportation, to study safety procedures and equipment for children boarding and exiting school buses, including feasibility of extending mechanical stop signal arms or installing barrier devices.

Requires the Department of Public Instruction to report findings, recommendations, and any legislative proposals to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee by January 15, 2016.

School bus safety instruction requirement takes effect with the 2015-2016 school year; remaining provisions effective upon enactment.
