Custodial law enforcement agencies must attempt to identify all outstanding warrants against individuals taken into custody and notify appropriate law enforcement agencies of the individual's location.

Courts must attempt to identify all outstanding warrants against defendants prior to entering any order in a criminal case and notify appropriate law enforcement agencies of the defendant's location.

Division of Adult Correction must work with law enforcement, district attorneys' offices, and courts to develop a process for identifying and resolving outstanding warrants for inmates both at intake and before release.

Inmates must be notified of outstanding warrants and their right to counsel when warrants are being resolved while in custody.

Act becomes effective October 1, 2015.
