House Bill 597 Summary

• Changes mediated settlement agreement enforcement requirements to require signatures only from "parties against whom enforcement is sought" rather than all parties across multiple statutes (G.S. 7A-38.1, 7A-38.3B, 7A-38.3D, 7A-38.4A, and 8-110)

• Applies to settlement agreements in civil mediations conducted under court-ordered mediated settlement conferences, community mediation centers, and family law matters

• Effective July 1, 2015, and applies only to agreements entered into on or after that date
