Increases criminal penalties for willful and wanton injury to personal property based on damage amount: Class 2 misdemeanor for $200 or less, Class 1 misdemeanor for $200-$5,000, Class A1 misdemeanor for $5,000-$50,000, and Class I felony for over $50,000.

Restructures penalties for willful and wanton injury to real property to include a Class 2 misdemeanor tier for $200 or less damage, with the same graduated penalties as personal property for higher damage amounts.

Previously, real property damage was a flat Class 1 misdemeanor regardless of amount; personal property damage over $200 was a Class 1 misdemeanor with no higher penalty tiers.

Effective December 1, 2015, and applies only to offenses committed on or after that date.
