Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Justice and Public Safety shall conduct a study on staffing levels in the State Highway Patrol.

Study shall examine the number of supervisory personnel, specifically first sergeants per district and the number of members and officers serving under each first sergeant.

Study shall determine whether costs can be reduced and efficiencies improved through adjusting job duties of supervisory personnel, adjusting the number of officers under supervisory personnel, or reducing the number of first sergeants and supervisory personnel.

Committee shall report its findings to the General Assembly when it convenes in 2016.

Act becomes effective upon enactment.
