Amends G.S. 163-165.5 to require party designations to appear on official ballots for Court of Appeals judges in nonpartisan ballot items, in addition to partisan ballot items.

Adds new subsection (h) to G.S. 163-323 requiring candidates for Court of Appeals Judge to indicate their political party affiliation or unaffiliated status on their notice of candidacy at the time of filing.

Requires the certificate verifying candidacy to include the party designation or unaffiliated status, which shall be displayed on the ballot.

Effective upon becoming law and applies to all elections held on or after the effective date.
