Establishes hospital police officers as a new distinct classification of company police officers employed by or contracted with local hospitals or hospital authorities.

Grants hospital police officers law enforcement powers on hospital property and on any public road or highway passing through or immediately adjoining hospital property, regardless of location.

Authorizes hospital chief executive officers to enter into joint agreements with municipal governing boards to extend hospital police officer authority into the municipality's jurisdiction with agreed-upon circumstances.

Authorizes hospital chief executive officers to enter into joint agreements with county governing boards (with sheriff consent) to extend hospital police officer authority into the county's jurisdiction with agreed-upon circumstances.

Effective date: July 1, 2015.
