H969 - Opportunity Scholarship Military Child Eligibility

• Adds children of military families as an eligible category for the Opportunity Scholarship Grant program in North Carolina.

• Eligible students must have a parent or legal guardian on full-time active duty status in the uniformed services of the United States, including National Guard and Reserve members on active duty orders.

• Military children must also meet existing eligibility requirements, including household income not exceeding 133% of the federal free or reduced-price lunch program threshold.

• Applies beginning with the 2016-2017 school year when the act becomes law.
