Pioneer Springs Community School, a charter school in Charlotte, is authorized to elect participation in the State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees under Article 3B of Chapter 135 of the General Statutes.

The election must be made no later than 30 days after the act becomes law and must comply with all requirements of G.S. 135-48.54.

The bill waives the time limitation normally contained in G.S. 135-48.54 that would otherwise prevent this charter school from making such an election.

The act becomes effective when it is signed into law.
