Amends G.S. 87-21 to exempt local boards of education that regularly employ licensed plumbers from being deemed to be engaged in the business of plumbing, heating, or fire sprinkler contracting.

Amends G.S. 87-26 to allow licensees under plumbing and heating regulations who are regularly employed by a local board of education to maintain their individual license and perform work during off-duty hours.

Amends G.S. 115C-524 to authorize local boards of education to directly employ personnel licensed to perform maintenance and repairs on school property for plumbing, heating, and fire sprinklers.

Becomes effective July 1, 2015.
