Eliminates confinement in response to violation (CRV) for misdemeanor defendants sentenced under North Carolina's structured sentencing law (Article 81B), effective December 1, 2015.

For structured sentencing misdemeanors, courts may impose confinement pursuant to G.S. 15A-1343(a1)(3) instead of the 90-day confinement previously available.

Courts cannot revoke probation for structured sentencing misdemeanors unless the defendant has previously received at least two periods of confinement for probation violations (excluding certain violations), with the second period imposed after the first was served.

Maintains the 90-day confinement option for misdemeanor defendants not sentenced under Article 81B.

Applies only to persons placed on probation on or after December 1, 2015.
