Removes the requirement for schools to develop personal education plans (PEPs) for students at risk of academic failure who are not performing at grade level.

Eliminates the mandate that personal education plans be created by the end of the first quarter and include focused interventions and performance benchmarks.

Removes the requirement for schools to notify parents or guardians about personal education plans and provide copies to families.

Retains requirements for schools to identify at-risk students early and provide focused instructional supports, reading interventions, tutoring, summer school, and transportation free of charge.

Removes references to personal education plans from good cause exemption documentation for grade retention and parent notification requirements for struggling readers in kindergarten through third grade.
